Colonoscopy
Colonoscopy is an examination of the large intestine. It involves a flexible video tube inserted through the anus to examine the entire large intestine.
Usual reasons to have a colonoscopy examination are
- bleeding seen during bowel motion
- change in bowel pattern either diarrhoea or constipation
- abdominal pains
- Past history or family history of polyps or bowel cancers
- screening for bowel cancers
- positive government sponsored stool test
