Dr Penny Hey MBBS BMedSci FRACP PhD

Gastroenterologist

Dr Penny Hey is a gastroenterologist and transplant hepatologist at the Austin Hospital. She graduated medicine from the University of Melbourne before completing physicians training specialising in gastroenterology at Austin and Northern Health. She was granted a National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia post-graduate scholarship to complete her PhD which was awarded in 2024 through the University of Melbourne. She continues to be actively involved in clinical research and education and holds a position as a senior lecturer at the University of Melbourne. She recently undertook overseas observerships in Toronto and London with a focus on complex liver disease and transplant hepatology.
